ADAM HARVEY BEST SO FAR Sony Music CD: 7741112 DVD: 7741129
After fourteen years of hits - 7 albums and a stack of awards (including 7 Golden Guitars) Adam Harvey has selected a collection of his biggest hits and video clips for these two amazing releases. The CD also contains two new songs - "Better Than This" (which Adam wrote with (producer) Rod McCormack after looking at the songs he had to choose from and reflecting how good his career has been) and "Good Enough For Me". The DVD also has a documentary and four live performances from the Golden Guitar Awards.
Luke Austen is the winner of Toyota Star Maker (2010) - and this album is part of his prize. "Light of Day" is a confident and compelling debut with 9 of the 12 tracks written by Luke with people like Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Harvey and Vaughan Jones. Luke has had a very successful career as a musical sideman, touring firstly with the legendary showman Brian Young, and then for several years as a mainstay of Troy Cassar-Daley's band. His first album is very much a country album in it's sound and themes, with songs ranging from the joys of parenthood ("She's So You") to touring with Youngie ("Cloncurry") and the chilling story of "Sacred Bones".
Kristy Cox's third release “Breaking New Ground” marks her entry into the contemporary bluegrass and acoustic country scene.
This highliy regarded album was recorded at the end of last year at EMI studios on Music Row in Nashville. The album, produced by top song writer Jerry Salley, includes the superbly experienced session musicians Bryan Sutton, Andy Leftwich, Alecia Nugent and there's a track with Australia’s own Davidson Brothers, who inspire Kristy to return to her original musical love.
